As reported by the CDC one worker at a Michigan paper mill in Escanaba, has died due to a fungal infection (Candida auris) and many people have been admitted and hospitalized due to a rare infection found in a paper mill.
Public health officials say that in total 800 employees working in a paper mill out of which” 21 confirmed cases are reported” and 76 cases are found due to blastomycosis (Candida auris) identified in a Paper mill in Escanaba, Michigan.
As reported by health providers that Fungal infection can be spread through inhaling spores. The symptoms already identified by the Health care providers are fatigue, cough, and in severe cases it spread to the lungs and other parts of the body.
In 2019, 240 cases were reported by the CDC affected by Fungal infection.
The paper mill has been temporarily closed and CDC recommended cleaning the paper mill for safety measurements to control the fungal infection
